Hi
We went with Pss and they were very professional kept us informed every step of the way even helped us when the wife packed our passports and i had to go to their agents in yorkshire to get them back
at this end they were in quarantine for about 4 day and we got the the very next day so i would recommend pss

We used PSS from Hants to Melbourne and had no problems with them at all. They were very efficient and worked hard. We also had Crown round to quote along with several others and Crown were the most expensive by a long way. Kents on this side were also very good and everything arrived in one piece. At the end of the day they all provide the same service and why pay more than you need to! Say yourself money and then use it once over here to help settle in and pay your bond on the rental etc.

Hubby went to storage depot in Yorkshire later with additions and found it a scuffy warehouse with no mention of PSS.
Had problems with claiming for broken lawnmower because we didn't declare its value on the insurance form, they tried to get out of paying the minimum amount for damage too saying they couldn't help us. We quoted their policy back to them and eventually got 54 pounds. Not a lot but it was the principle. We also had a broken bike pump and a missing bike pedal. All three were detained and cleaned by MAF (although we had steam cleaned them ourselves!) and we were charged $200.

We used PSS to ship some stuff over it wasnt a container. We decided to pick it up at the airport. PSS were really good as we decided to ship stuff at the last minute - the day before we left and they got boxes and all the paperwork to us the next day so could sort it before we flew out! The only thing is we got charges at this end for quarantine and another charge at the place we picked it up. It was loads cheaper to pick it up at the airport - obviously not suitable for a container.

We used PSS and they were fab. We even had 2 English guys unpacking all the stuff this end!
We took the insurance and had 2 minor things damaged no problems as we got the full money amount back very quickly.
$2000 is a lot of money here, so save it and use PSS.

excellent debate - we are trying to choose between crown and pss - trying to beat each other up on price!

PSS just quoted and they would charge exactly the same as Crown! FFS I am only taking a few items. No furniture or heavy goods this is a joke!

Quarantine officer’s time,
Staff member to supervise inspection,
Admin fee,
Searching,
Opening and inspecting of cartons
Resealing of cartons
Without this estimate you will most likely be stung at the other end by additional costs which might influence your choice of quote in the first place. As an indication, we were required to pay $750 for an inspection that took 20 mins. (PSS/Kent/Perth)

Ask both to give you an indication of the anticipated quarantine inspection fees they would expect for your container. Even if their quote does not include this, they should be able to provide a ball park lump sum container fee which would be comprised of:

Resealing of cartons

No Probs, I think we will call them too for a quote, so far we've had for 3 bed Semi - 20ft container:
DAP - £5000!
Crown - £3986
Migrate Global - £3598
Migrate Global were an odd lot, they sent round 2 drivers who looked at all our stuff to see if it would fit in their van when they drive it all off to Manchester to put in the 20ft container No sealing the container on yer doorstep stuff! No consultant, which maybe why it is the lowest quote
Chris
.
[EDIT] Incidentally & completely OT! Did you know that Josh Holloway plays a part in the new Command & Conquer - Tiberium Wars(PC game that I'm Playing) Couldn't believe it when they went to a cut scene & he was playing a rebel comander! it is just like his Sawyer character in Lost!
