Ive been looking at real estate.au again! and have noticed alot of the fencing is metal sheets why is that? dont they have wooden panels or fencing? sorry, just inquisative thats all

Termites eat away at most types of wood, therefore metal posts and fence panals are popular here in Australia.

just different,... i guess you get use to that when you live there plus some do look really nice some cover the panels with this rustic reed like panelling it look lovely

If you want a wooden fence you can still have one, the posts just need to sit in termite proof metal 'things' - for want of a better word - so that the wood isn't in contact with the ground.

It does look shite doesn't it. Unfortunately, that's what a lot of modern Australia looks like - Colorbond (steel fencing)/Legoland hell.

You can use Hard Wood posts direct into the ground but these cost a small fortune, You wont be able to buy these at you local Bunnings store. You may be able to get them from a timber merchant. I have a neighbour who cuts hardwood timber on his sawmill and I got mine at mates rates. I built a deck and it looks great.
