And what is the difference between North Frankston, South Frankston, Frankston Heights and Frankston vis-a-vis type of area, property values, facilities etc?

I appreciate the time taken to respond - it is quite hard when you don't know the areas!!!

Buzzy.
there is a car park nxt to blockbusters in frankston that charges $3 all day and retutn ticket to mel $12.40
frankston has got good selection of shops and a good indoor shopping centre

National Builders is quite reaonably priced, there is a firm in Tyabb called Amery homes and they are reasonably priced too!
Porter Davies and Simmonds can be quite exspensive. National have their own website and I have the number for Amery if you like and theypost their plans.
How big is the house you want? Do you have any easements around the property, any covenants and what side is the crossover on.
This is a big factor when building.
