Curse on PM no joke: Indigenous leader
A Queensland Indigenous leader says an ancient Aboriginal curse placed on Prime Minister John Howard is no laughing matter and could even have deadly consequences.
Suspended Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commissioner (ATSIC) chairman Geoff Clark was with a group of Aboriginal people who performed a ceremony known as pointing the bone at Mr Howard at Colac in south-west Victoria this week.
Indigenous rights campaigner Bob Weatherall says Aborigines believe that to point a bone at someone is strong enough to cause death.
He says John Howard has pushed Aborigines too far with his plans to abolish ATSIC and now they are using everything they have to fight back.
"You can't take it any other way, when somebody says and actually does the pointing of the bone then you have to take it as serious, you don't take it as a gimmick," he said.
"You don't think that it's not going to happen, you have got to respect that."

Do you think it would work on Latham? Now he is a curse, scary thing is many aussies will vote for him, Australia is set to become the reincarnation of 60's Australia. Howards far from perfect but hes bringing Australia forward Latham plans to set it back 50 years. He gets in we'll be leaving real quick.

I personally think that if he gets to be PM you are going to see a big slide in the economy.
The bloke is a tw#t. He is rude, has no diplomacy when it comes to dealing with sensitive foreign leaders, Considering Australia relies a lot on the export market to Asia.. and the US is protecting this country ( there is no way Aus can defend itself)
He also wants everything Aussie owned, does the guy know how many jobs Japanese, British and American firms provide to Australians.. and no they can't do it all themselves.
Take for instance the medical science world.. these institutes ( like the Prince Charles) are funded by Britain, it's a joint effort.
And as for withdrawing troops..lol.
Look I don't totally agree with us being in Iraq ( and I'm not debating the issue either), but to withdraw troops when terrorists are threatening, and kidnappers etc.. is a wrong move.. so everytime a terrorist wants something, they will hijack because they know leaders like Spain and Aus ( if controlled by Latham) will pull out.. makes the world more dangerous.
Anyway, can't say I like Johnnie Howard either, but Latham.. argh, he will pull this country down.
just my personal opinion

Whatever they say now cannot be believed. Blair looks honest compared to this lot.
