I am speaking of wiring plugs within the home which includes new light fittings that
require wiring etc NOT power tools, sorry I was specifically speaking of Licensing
under the various Building/Housing codes and authorities.

An Aussie can wire a plug without help , now I would like to see that .The reason everything is Licensed and regulated here is that there are too many half wits that are flying about in utes calling them selfs trademen.

Insulting my bike, that's outrageous! I'll give your R6 a run around Brands any day,
if I can stay on that is.

My sister in law is a UK qualified quantity surveyor and has worked in Oz for several
years without any further certification, however I don't know if the same rules apply
to site managers. I would imagine they do but having said that, it would seem to make
sense to join a professional body over there in any case.
