jobs in demand list info !
 

hi all, whats the differance bettween the main jobs in demand list and the regional skill demand list. any takers on this one.
as my job motor mechanic has come up on the south aussi and adaliade list thingy.

Hello Tipper.

The regional skilled occupations list is only relevant if you are looking to move to the State in question and want that State to consider you for Nomination under the STNI visa category.

So if you are considering moving to SA it's probably worth considering applying for State Nomination as the timeline for a STNI visa grant is about half that of a skilled independent or skilled family sponsored visa. And you only need the pool mark of 70 points to be eligible.

Alan, you are right, but really the only way to speed up processing of a skilled
migration visa application would be if you are nominated by Victoria, ACT or SA
AND you have a job offer in one of the occupations on their regional skills in
demand list...this will indeed cut the processing time by AT LEAST half. Alan, you

Hello Elfa.

I think you'll find that a job offer isn't a pre-requisite of being nominated in almost all occupations on the regional skilled occupations lists (IT in SA now being the one notable exception). And the nomination is sufficient to move you from a 136 to a 137-STNI visa, which in turn means your visa should come through in half the time as compared to a 136 application.

It might be that the States don't agree to nominate unless they are aware that job vacancies exist in that occupation, but that's not quite the same thing as what I think you are suggesting ...

is there a list of the occupations they might nominate ?? on the internet? if so, can
we have a url please?!!

how does this work? you can be state nominated in an occupation but dont need a job
offer and they give you a visa if you move to that state? am confused ! :o¦
