Hi

just wondering what the job propects are for welders in Queensland. My hubby is a builder for the last 20 years but wants to re-train as a welder here in the uk.

Maybe looking at going to oz in couple of years.

I think I remember some of your earlier Posts.

Its taken us a bit of time to get here, but we just arrived in Brisbane last week and my husband (Welder/Fabricator/Boilermaker) had an interview and job within 2 days. Granted I did quite a bit of netwoking before we arrived through different engineering companies etc, but I think there is plently of work out there as long as your husband has the right skills and qualitications.

I was very similar to you in that I was quite concerned whether there was as much work as we were being told, but certainly at the moment there does seem to be.
