Hey guys!


I have been looking at various jobs in preparation for our arrival to our new Life in Melbs from Hull, UK and it is sooooo daunting! I am coming in on a spouse visa and my wife is a teacher. However I need a Job! I do feel I am limited in what I can do as I have worked in a cinema for almost 20 years! I am currently Projection Manager so have some management experience. I also worked as a special police constable for 5 years so I may go down the police route.

Anyways I am looking for anything really - I will try my hand at any job and always give 110% I have thought about doing an apprentice ship as a tradey - perhaps tiling / plumbing ect. Basically I just need a break! So if anyone around the Ferntree gully area are on the lookout for a hardworking, dedicated employee then Please give me a shout! I have a resume ect!

Welcome to Melbourne (for Nov ) - i am in Upper Ferntree Gully so not too far away. I have been here ~ 5 years and have had a few jobs since being here. As long as you are not picky you will do OK.

My wife is also a teacher - but since we have been here she's never worked (way toooo many kids!!)

Your wife may have trouble picking up a permanent teaching job - just a heads up. She would have better luck out in the mulga somewhere as generally there are plenty of applicants for the desirable areas and vacancies more out in the sticks where people dont really want to go. She will have more chance if she is secondary maths/science or has a skill set in high demand. So all depending on who you think will be the main breadwinner you may want to look further afield into some of the country areas.

She is a primary school teacher currently, and has a management point. Her sister inlaws neighbour is also a teacher and says there is plenty of work in that area.

I mysel will consider anything! Apart from sales! LoL
