Help Desk Support Engineer Needed
If you are looking for this sort of position or know of anyone who is we like to heear from you/them:
Exetel is looking to employ an additional full time support desk person to join our support team.
We are a small company (20 people) and we work as a true team with no management levels or hard and fast demarcations of responsibility.
There is a great opportunity to learn all aspects of the communications technology business as we provide ADSL, SHDSL, VPN, Wireline Voice, Mobile Voice, VoIP and Hosting solutions to our 40,000 customers.
The duties of this position are to answer incoming support telephone calls of the following types:
Diagnosing problems customers are experiencing with their ADSL Logging faults with Telstra if required Liaising between customers and Telstra to fix any problem Answering pre-sales questions regarding Exetel's services Sorting out administrative/billing issues Working with other Exetel people on various activities
The people who are currently successful at Exetel in these positions have the following characteristics:
Degree in computer related subjects or
TAFE equivalent to a computer related degree Solid personal experience with modems and ADSL Patience Courtesy Ability to work full on for extended periods of time
Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications.
Exetel's offices are in North Sydney within a 5 minute walk of North Sydney station; parking is reasonably easy and close.
You will work with a group of people who are among the best in the Internet field and will have good opportunities to advance in your career in a choice of directions.

In England for that kind of helpdesk job if you can speak English and spell your name you are probably overqualified!!!

Does that help when your customers have been holding in a queue for 30 minutes listening to some voice saying how important their customers are; and how brilliant the services the company offer are; and getting more and more annoyed...?
