Re: Jessica Watson
The World Sailing Speed Record Council and other record-keeping organizations stopped recognizing "youngest" pursuits recently because they've become so controversial.
Thus, the official record seemingly will forever belong to an 18 year old.
This article is interesting, about "A girl of 13 was put under state care to stop her setting off on an attempt to become the youngest person to sail solo around the world."

Jessica Simpson standing at the microphone with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd standing behind her
Jessica Simpson said "I have to disagree with our Prime Minister"
Nearly pissed myself laughing! He just can't get anything right...

Have to admit I was surprised with all the fanfare when I switched on the TV today. I thought her arrival would pass with nothing more than a murmur from the usual 'tall poppy' brigade.

Re: Jessica Watson
So you'll be looking for sponsors then? Remember to do is unassisted, ie no stops, just like Jessica Watson did. Maybe you should be on the safe side and have a stop or two like Mike Perham.
