Wow! Woke up this morning, glanced out of the window and what a beautiful sight! Snow all over the hills and the fields! I love it! Kids had fun (until we told them the school was still open) and I went for a quiet walk in the countryside followed by a warm drink in the local, sitting by the log fire......pure bliss! After that i spoiled it all by going for a job interview and getting it (damn and blast)! Well hope everyones ok on here XXXX

Very envious as the NE has not had any and this is one of the things I wanted to see on our return.

I take it you have moved away from Queensland?

Although Hubby laid in bed last night and said "Honey, its going to be 4 degree's in London tomorrow.....4 degrees has never looked so good" (as compared to working on cars in 37 degree heat) :D :D

Yes living in Suffolk at the mo until we've decided where we want to live and commit! When we left it was in the high 30's, the humidity was high and when we landed at Heathrow I could've kissed the chilly ground (well i would have done, but it would have meant me dodging the broken glass, chewing gum and dog crap)! Ahhh just kidding, it was actually a pleasant and sunny day! We've been back 8 weeks now and we're still loving it here - we love the lushness, cold air on our faces when we go for walks, the heritage of our village and surrounding towns, just how pretty it all is! We're very lucky where we live which makes the decision to return even more difficult.

I was hoping not to work, but a few bills reminded me that I have to! Start on Thursday (deep gloom descending over me as I type). :confused:

Weather today is chucking it down, subbies all mad :mad: just after xmas, all the bills in and now weeks of rain expected and of course no work no pay!

PS my littlen's blood tests have finally come back within normal limits! Hurrahhh and phew! They're going to keep an eye on him, but at leats it means no more sleepless nights worrying!

My Hubby would KILL for some rain. He got horribly sunburnt at the Melb Meet on Saturday on his leg and he now says we should have come to Oz in Winter....I just tell him off for whinging (jokingly of course ;) )

No snow here in Kent yet, looks like we might have some today though which is not good as we are a bit in the sticks and tend to have power cuts, plus no gas so wont be able to eat and will just have the heat from the fire!!!! :scared:

Snow in Kent always seems to make it onto the national news programmes, whereas snow anywhere else (in the UK) doesn't. Anybody else noticed that?

Probably because Kent seems to have become a suburb of London and the whole of the UK seems to revolve around whatever happens to affect Londoners! :(

Well its still snowing!!! Roads and cars frozen over night. I could kiss the person that invented 'quick clear' windscreens! Flick a switch and not only is your windscreen clear but the car is lovely and warm! Just collected kids from school and another parent has just got back from Brisbane (hols), she said she had a wonderful time, however coming back to snow was a million times better! Bet we don't feel like this next week!!!! The novalty will soon wear thin!

Wasn't it all over the news last week that there were blizzards up in your area? Or maybe I'm geographically challenged? We've had snow flurries all day, but its now so cold the snow is settling. It just looks so pretty. You'll get some as its going to get colder! Bring out the woolies!!!!!

I'm about 2 hrs from you in Suffolk. I'm snuggled up with a hot water bottle, so all cosy here. Wonder how long it'll last (the snow that is)?

All we have had is occasional hail type stuff, nothing remotely fun or white! :( :(

Something to do with the fact we have Corus Steel and chemical plants all around, I think it does something to the atmosphere.

We are in a kinda of Bermunda Triangle Weather Zone up in Teesside or maybe the Lost World, many would agree.

I think a drive down south at the weekend.

If you've got the funds spend the weekend in and around Suffolk, the villages of Dedham, Stoke by Nayland (where I live) etc are beautiful and definately worth a visit before you head back to oz! Plus theres the snow!

Found it! Its been moved to the Marketplace. I never even knew that forum existed! What a marvellous website this is! Anyway if your thinking of heading down for the weekend, try some web searches for surrounding areas to the villages etc Theres loads of B&B's! Would offer my place but we still have no furniture!!! We've gone for the retro inflatable look!!

We have got a wee bit of snow. Dont like too much when you have to go to work, wouldnt have minded lots when we were off over Xmas!

Bit worried that we are going to get loads in the coming weeks due to the terrible snow they're having in New York and Boston.... :(

Its disappeared!!!! :( Suns been out but its still bitterly cold. Went shopping today and brought a jumper (my first one so thats not bad going). I think you're right about the snow coming over from Boston and NY as its the coldest its been for ages! I'm doing bank work at the hospital so I might keep next week free (don't fancy driving to work in the snow)! Have also noticed that the bulbs in the garden are starting to come through. The changing seasons are quite nice really, never thought I'd miss them. Mind you was sitting down for a cosy coffee with mates in town, opened the Daily Mail and there was about three pages on 'Yob Culture Britain'. It was shocking to read. I have 3 boys and apparently 1 in 4 boys admit to have been in trouble with the police. I've always said that I can see myself down the cop shop in a few years, dragging my middle child out by his ears!!!! If we're going to make the UK our home for good, I need a plan to stop my children going down the 'yob road'. Any ideas?
