Its my birthday!!!

Its my birthday!!!
and we went to the cinema this evening. We were the only couple in the cinema. now that is a first for us and it was very strange!! it wasn't a late one (9.40pm showing, or is that late for Aussies) and it wasn't a crap film (Anger Management). We aren't in the back of beyond either (busy Sydney suberb). All I can say is 'only in Australia'. or are we the only sad gits that go to the movies these days!! Can't be cause of something good on tv as there is never anything good on tv!! anyway, I've had a few so scuse this post, only reply if you are insane!!

Happy birthday Mandy.
In WA in 2000 my hubby and I went to the casino at around 8pm, the roads were quite quiet then, but when we left at 10pm we were the only car on the road. We thought about the twilight zone............

Where did you go to the cinema? I will admit 10.00 does seem to be late round where I live - we went for a meal Sat night and they had to really try to squeeze us in....at 6.00 pm! We thought we would get a quick bite in before the rush!

Hi Sandra, We live in Castle Hill and went to Castle Towers Greater Union multiplex. Its usually kicking there most days. We had a meal at the Hogs Breath Cafe (I know bad name!!), which was really nice, gorgeous steak, and they gave us cinema tickets for 6 bucks each as we spent over $25. Not bad considering movie tickets are normally £13 each!! We were the last to leave the restaurant at 9.30pm!!

Right then - how long do they have the offer on for? - son birthday tomorrow and he loveeeessss the Hogs Breath and then to send him to the cinema? Any decent pubs nearby?

Its an offer they do all the time I think, so yes great idea for your son. Doesn't the hogs breath just do absolutely gorgeous steaks!!

ps funny thing was that before we went for our meal, hubby asked the cinema cashier if there were any seats left for the film, she almost wet herself with laughter!!

I think we might plan for this Saturday night - My son has stated (by shrugging shoulders and grunting!) that he does not mind where he goes to dinner but I know he will not be able to resist the steaks as you say they are fabulous - he might even smile at the option.
I will check it all out and let you know how it goes - we are about 30 mins from Manley but think we need to back track abit to get on our way out your way from St Ives. Pity we will not be able to leave until 6.00 ish and it will be pitch dark then. I have read your mails talking about the area you live and have been determined to come have a look see!! Scuse me if I sound nosy - I am not meaning to be
