Default ISP Providers

I know there is no such thing as Freeserve in Australia, where you only pay for the price of the phone call, but do any of the ISPs give a months free trial like they do here?

We plan to get broadband once we've found a house, but I'm going to need access to email in the meantime, otherwise we won't know when our stuff has arrived!

Jane, council libraries have free internet access, sometimes a good idea to call ahead & book especially when school is out ie after 3pm & on school holidays & weekends. Short of that I dont know of any free trials (although there may well be some, I just dont know of them ), AOL was doing something like that but not sure if they still do (or if you are game enough to get involved with them ). For cheap internet access you can always try someone like Froggy for $19.95/month or DoDo for $9.95/month. Both are fairly cheap, but I wont be held responsible for the service .

Otherwise check out the forums & other peoples suggestions at Whirlpool forums - ISP & broadband comparisons & discussions .

Hope this helps .

Hi Mrs Dagboy,

I need to be able to plug the laptop in somewhere as we're keeping the email accounts we've got, so that we're contactable from back home, and the removal people.

I'm just trying to sort out as much as possible in advance so that there's less to do when we get there, although now I can't sleep because there's too much to think about!

It would have been much easier to come over now, so that I had less time to brood over things, except Jim promised he would work till the end of the year. House is sold and we're living in a poky little flat just biding time till January. Still, only 11 more weeks to go.

Jane

For a comparisons of ISPs go to www.whirlpool.net.au

I use tpg (I will not recommend them as I am going to use someone ese soon). I pay 17$ a month and pay a fixed local call charge per dial up.
