Anyone any views on the Bay Islands in Moreton Bay
(Macleay etc)?
Been there,know anyone who lives/works there?

The only one I've been to is Coochiemudlo, it's more touristy then the rest because it has beaches around it, the rest only have rocks and Mangrove swamps. Although saying that a lot of people are buying expecting it will be the next boom area, although I don't think that will happen untill they put bridges in to the mainland.
Most of them have a large number of commuter, retired or holiday homes on them. You need to take a ferry to get to them all, but it runs pretty regularly. Houses on the shore line are a fraction of the cost opposite on the mainland.
A couple of years ago a speculator sold a number of undeveloped blocks for what seems like a steal. The only problem was for the punters that bought them was that the land was below the hide tide level and they were sucecptable to flooding.
So always BUYER BEWARE.
