Irons

Bearing in mind previous threads on changing plugs etc in Oz, if we needed a new iron should we buy one here and bring it or wait until we get to Oz?

I have been told to ask this question by Mrs Buzzy. :D

They're cheap as chips over here - got one from Woolworths the other day for about $12 I think - nothing fantastic but it does the job! :)

Whats the crack there with changing plugs? The wife can still use her UK Iron can't she as long as we get a two pin plug fitted?

Yep! Its only for the long term that you would change the plug really - other option is to bring a UK extension cable with you so that you dont have to have a travel plug attached to everything - just attach it to the ext lead instead.

Phew thats a weight off my mind. She has just bought a monster iron that she thinks is great. Even though she hates ironing.

Don't want to give her SOMETHING ELSE to twist about ;)

Hey up, I like the sound of no ironing for 4 months, I'm now even more desperate to get out there (4 days of no ironing is a miracle in my house).

ipom

In the uk, I had a dryer where the clothes would come out and I'd fold them and put them away. No ironing.

Here it seems I also have a dryer. It's a big golden orb thing that glows in the sky... I believe it's called the sun, though it's been a long time since I've seen it.

I would love to not to have to do any ironing! It must be my washing machine (from the UK) but everything is creased up and needs ironing. I know loads of people over here who don't iron, why can't I be one!! Anyone got any tips?

It's the same in my house. Although I do notice they are not as bad when you hang them outside.

I also have to iron everything and yes that does include Hubbies pants - he can't bear to have them all creased around the nether regions! :D
