IRD number

IRD number
I have seen on the info side of this site "get an IRD number before you go it will save you time and etc etc", well I visited the revenue site and every form on there asked for anIRD number to be put in? so has anybody managed to get an IRD number and if so how, thanks Tezza

If you drill down far enough on the revenue site there is a page on Meeting Your Tax Obligations at http://www.ird.govt.nz/individuals/r...ligations.html with a link to an IRD application form at http://www.ird.govt.nz/library/publi...nfo/ir595.pdf.
Only problem is it asks for an address in NZ which I guess most of us won't have until we get there

If someone REALLY needed a short-term NZ address I could offer my P O Box in Christchurch and then forward anything on WITHIN New Zealand...but it will cost a pint.
