Sorry i'm not too sure which shops in oz to go to for bargain ipod accessories. But out of curiosity a while ago i checked out the oz itunes site, and discovered that ipods and tunes work out slightly cheaper than here in the UK. But I'm sure now that they are starting to wake up in oz you will get some decent replies soon :-)

I'll let you know in about two weeks - in the last week partner's ipod and playstation have both died so we've got to buy both new when we get there. As if we weren't going through enough money - can someone explain to me how it can be virtually the same price to ship a 20ft container from NZ as it is from the UK when it's roughly an eighth of the distance!!!

Yep, Apple don't allow stores to discount their goods so that everyone is selling for the same price. Don't ask me where I picked up this snippet of info but I did :D

This is the place to go for ipod accessories -

www.i-nique.com

They will ship to Oz - in fact a lot of their business comes from Oz.

when i checked them out they were slightly chepaer than in the UK.

virtually all shops sell ipod accessories, i would recommend kmart, and target, they seem cheap for most things, or look out for myer, they often have sells on and knock 20% of all music / gaming accessories.

harvey norman will price match and refund 10% if you find it cheaper anywhere else

I needed an iPod car charger. All around the $25-$30 mark at the time in the shops. Bought online from blahdvd.com for £3.99 including free postage to Australia. It only took a few days to arrive as well.

Lots of other hard drive mp3 players out there now. My phone takes an 8gb memory card now and has quality sound as its a sony ericsson with a 2megapixel camera AND RADIO built in.

Youve got to ask yourself, how many cds can you listen to in one journey or sitting. I think about 4 hours which is about 4cds

if you had 30 cds (approx 360 songs at 4 mb each) then thats less that 2gb

Why does anyone except people who REALLY need storage on the go need 80gb of music.

10gb should be more than enough for anyone even people in the msic industry

I have 30gb and like being able to carry all my music around with me so I can choose on the go what I want to listen to. I don't expect to listen to all my music everytime I go out, it is just the convenience of having it there for when I want to listen to it. Plus you have to remember that people don't just use them for storing music. I copy a few movies on to watch on the long plane trip back to the UK for example :)

Interesting what you all have to say, and thanks to everyone for replying.
So it looks like from the searching many Oz websites that UK might be that bit cheaper when it come accessories - the kind of thing I was looking for was - http://news.ipodworld.co.uk/index.ph..._down_a_storm/
The Bose docking station, and to answer the question 'why 80gig' well why not - when its not much more money than the 30gig - and besides you can never have enough storage ... It was also the intention of having the ability to store more choice of movies and its keeps the kids busy on long trips. But all in all its personal choice, I never use to like iPods at all and would rather mainstream MP3's , but I fear the darkside is taking over :)
