Yes it can. Many ISP cap their bandwidth offerings even though the exchange may allow much faster rates. Best place to check is the Whirlpool forum as many of the Exchange engineers post up there

Thanks for the tip! I'm a regular visitor to Whirlpool, so I'll ask around there.

I'm still stoked I don't have a dial-up to AOL any more.

On a Tesltra only ADSL exchange (Altona) so whilst im fairly happy with the results, i am paying over the odds for their monopoly of the market here. That said if i did live in the metro then i imagine the speeds probabaly wouldn't be as good. Its a catch 22 isn't it .. grrr!

Then there is Overend st in Brunswick and the Aurora Estate in Epping on the Superfast 100 mb's link. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/do-...-1225851111183

Personally after having fast broadband for a while, presently I dont need much faster than 8mb's as I've yet to connect anywhere at any speed faster than that. Although it does help with multiple downloading, I would much prefer to have greater download capacity. I'm using my quota every month,. I suspect once TV down the net becomes the norm ADSL2 will come into it's own though.
