internal flights?
We want to visit Brisbane Sydney and Melbourne (in this order preferably) next year. Does anyone know if it is cheaper to organise all flights this end or book the internal links once in Aus?
And does anyone know of travel companies/airlines that do any special deals for this kind of thing?
We would be flying out from London

Check out qantas.com.au and virginblue.com.au and jetstar.com.au
Qantas regularly have cheap deals (red e-deals) jetstar are the cheap version of qantas and virginblue are the virgin equivelant of easy-jet.

Definately check internal flights. Try qantas, then virgin blue, then jetstar. Jetstar and virgin blue are a bit like ryan air over here, and do pretty good deals for booking well in advance. ie, we have booked sydney to Mackay in November for $100 one way, when the normal fare is about $400. Just be wary of virgin-blue - good ol' Richard Branson pulled out of the Alice Springs / Adelaide flight route a few months back, leaving a bunch of folks stranded who had booked tickets. Jetstar is a partner airline of Qantas, so you should be ok with them come what may....

Re: internal flights?
Most UK travel agents can book the whole lot as one package.
If you want to book the internal flights yourself, the websites are the best way to go - VirginBlue, Qantas amd Jetstar (which you can reach via the Qantas site). Be careful if booking with Jetstar in particular - they may be cheap, but they often use airports a long way from the actual city, so you are left with a huge taxi bill.
