Saw this over at The Guardian Abroad. Starts off a bit 'wanky' - but goes on to offer some very good advice. Kind of comes back to my strongly held view that the whole 'kids are adaptable' line that people trot out is a bit like saying 'fish can make ideal jogging partners'.

Thanks for that it is very interesting, especially the part about looking at how you feel, when your child throws things in your face, rather than reacting to it. We are still haveing a lot of problems with our soon to be 18 year old and although things are improving it is slow and there are plently of troughs to go with the peaks.
