The next move in official interest rates could be down
"Economists are adamant that the Reserve will leave its official cash rate on hold at 5.50 per cent for a fourth consecutive month.
Only three out of 18 market analysts surveyed by Reuters now believe interest rates will be lifted by the end of the year.
Investors are now betting on at least one interest rate cut, with the rate on three-year bond futures now 5.28 per cent, well below the cash rate."
