Insurance claims
Hi all
Has anyone had to make an insurance claim? When we received our goods we found that a lot of our electrical goods ie dvd, video, kettle etc did not work properly. We believe this was due to the conditions in the container going from hot to cold air and we had an electrician to look at them and he said the same. We are now in the process of getting quotes for new equipment - has anyone found this a problem when claiming on insurance as they are in the UK?
Is it really worth all the hassle, are they quick to pay out or not?
Thanks

Re: Insurance claims
It might depend on you having electical derangement as part of your policy which most don't.
They may only pay for obvious shipping damage. In effect, this means that if it's found to be damage due to being (obviously) dropped, bumped, shaken etc and an 'engineer'/ specialist will verify this then they will pay out
