Question Inspection Fees ????

We have just received a quote from a shipping company and notice in the small print that there charges exclude Inspection Fees, is this normal ?

If so how much can we expect to pay for inspection a 20ft container

That is normal that it excludes inspection and decontamination fees. It all depends on what and how much they inspect and what items have to be destroyed or disinfected. I cannot answer your question about the costs.

From what I remember it was about $65 for an item that needed destroying, more for treating it, and about $180 inspection fee for the shipment. Until AQIS look at your stuff no-one can tell you how much it'll be in total, thats why they don't include it. The importing shippers will bill you for it and you'll have to pay before your goods are released.

I'm sure Crown's quote includes inspection fees, but not decontamination fees.
