Default Initial Entry - Pregnant Wife

Dear All,
I am sure this has been asked before, but please do bear with me...

We had made plans to fly out of heathrow to sydney, end of March2013 for a 3 week holiday to validate out 175 visas.

2 weeks back we found out that the wife is 4 weeks preganant. While it is great news, we are really concerned to make the long haul trip in March, since she already had complications during her first preganancy...

is there any way we could delay our initial entry. we were supposed to be validate it by May29 2013...

Any pointers/helpful tips would be greatly accepted

Unlikely, especially as you have time between now and March to make the trip as well. You could ask DIAC, and if a doctor will back you up with medical reports that might help, but it is very unusual for an extension to be granted.

Why don't you just ask and see what happens? I also suspect that the answer will be no and would suggest that you look to go earlier than planned.

Ask but expect to be denied. In DIACs eyes you have plenty of time to validate, it's not their fault your wife is pregnant Congrats by the way. Is there was any way your wife's ObGyn could state in writing that due to complications, your wife should not be travelling during her pregnancy? You'd have more chance of getting an extension.
