Information about Alexandria NSW
Hi Guys,
There is a possibility that OH may have a job offer in this area and as we have been looking at Melbourne we have no information what so ever about the area.
Any info about residential areas within commutable distances particularly child-friendly areas would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a where to live in Sydney document that I could look at similar to the document that is produced for Melbourne?
Look forward to hearing from you....

Re: Information about Alexandria NSW
Alexandria is very inner-city. Up and coming area with a mix of old and new housing. Some streets have original terraces - some still very original and some renovated and smart. There are plenty of new apartment blocks built on re-developed industrial sites, right next to still-operating industrial sites. It's a real mix. It's also close to Redfern and Waterloo both of which have had some -er- social problems in the past.
There would be children in the area but frankly I wouldn't want to live there with a family. It's more of a singles area. People who can't afford to buy in trendy Newtown move to Alexandria instead.
All of the eastern suburbs are fine for kids and they're easily commutable to Alexandria. Alternatively the inner-west suburbs would be fine too.

Anywhere within 45 mins - 1 hour commutable distance would be fine - I will have a look at the Eastern Suburbs.
Looking on google earth and multi-map it looks heavily populated and industrial.....

We went to the Bunnings there and kept our car doors locked!
