Exclamation Info on Coffs Harbour

Hi, we've just been granted our bridging visa (496-three years). Have to live in NSW excl. Sydney,Wollagong,Newcastle. Thinking of Coffs-any info or views on Coffs. Both aged 40ish and have a daughter aged 12. We are looking for somewhere not rural. My wife visited Balina, and it was not for us, so we are in a dilemma. Additional info-Wifes a nurse in LD-I am a cobbler & engraver-. Any advise would be great.

Try and run a bit of a search on here for previous posts. I seem to recall a fair bit about Coffs. Also check out through NSW health service to see where the local hospitals are placed. Coffs IMO isn't like Balina. Balina (well used to be) a bit more hip chick type of place. We liked Byron but only to visit although lately it's gone all upmarket and very pricey. Great beaches in Coffs but not sure what else. Only passed through.

Cheers

Ginny

The Hunter is in a boom at the moment because of the coal mining industry.
For a nurse and cobbler the Newcastle area would be a good choice since hospitals seem to be expanding from what I see.

What is different about the area is that the area of Newcastle has many smaller communities that are all really close to Newcastle.
waratah, Jesmond, Cardiff, warner's bay, raymond terrace, hamilton.
Some communities are close to the beaches, some are on the lake (macquarie).
