Default Industrial/Manufacturing Areas?

Can anyone tell me which city is the most industrial, as in lots of manufacturing based jobs.
Hopefully gonna be going on a 136 as a skilled metal machinist, I dont have a clue where is best for this type of work.
Any advice please.

There isn't really an answer, check out the govt job site jobsearch.gov.au and see. Probably WA and Queensland are best for metal trades with SA a distant third.Metal trades are boom /bust so one state can be booming while the rest are bust, and the opposite.Good luck.

Do some research as to where you want to live and decide from there. WA is booming but mostly in the Mining sector. Also mostly out on the open plains of nowhere covered in dust etc. If you are a well experienced tradesman I should think you will be ok in most places (except Sydney, money is crap as a tradie so can't afford to live there).
Queensland is also booming so may be worth a look. The north has large amounts of work in the Mining industry like WA, not a good lifestyle though as long hours and probably FIFO.
SE QLD is also booming and and I think you should be ok there also.
TRY www.seek.com.au
You will get a good idea from there.
Best of luck
Sean
