Edge Hill is the yuppy area so you probably pay the "I can't get this mobile out me ear" prices.
The guy who owns it is Swiss. Mainly European style cuisine with an Aussie flavour. Cost us (3 of us, 3 courses with wine and beer) about $150, maybe less. He has a website http://www.swisspencils.com.au/

Cheers for that.
I may give it a go sometime.
It's only about a 5-10 minute drive from where I live.

There are a couple of places I tried in Fremantle (Cappuccino strip) when I was out there last, weren't the best, but I supposed it's what I was used to in the UK. I did however try a place in Perth central, near Northbridge (Sorry can't remember the name of the place) which was very similar to what I was eating while in India - great Thalis. When I get there I will find this post and reply and let you know the name, but you will have to wait a few months.

I am afraid if you want a British style Indian you will have to go to Spice Avenue in Birkdale Brisbane. But the best I have had on the Goldie is the "Indian Whisper" at Runaway Bay. Or Saffron on Broad beach which is pretty contemporary and plush and the food is more authentic Indian.

Here we go again...OK...mines a chicken dansak or lamb rogan josh with peshwari nan, keema rice, onion bhaji, poppadoms, mango chutney, lime pickle and raita.

Have yet to find the aforementioned chicken dansak or peshwari nan here...and yes, I like the anglicised version of Indian....

Have you tried The Royal India in West Perth or Maya in Market Street Fremantle we love both of these. Not the cheapest by far, but service and food very good. funny enough was really looking forward to an Indian when I went back on hols and was very disappointed. Suppose after a while your tastes change, found lots of food that I was really looking forward to just wasn't the same as I remembered.
Cheers

When I took my partner to Perth last time, (he's Indian by the way) We got a hankering for some Indian food and we tried a place in Merriwa (I think) called Govenders (spelling might not be right). The buffet is Ok, but you can also choose of the menu (if I remember correctly).
