importing my nissan navara

Default importing my nissan navara

we are looking to bring our nissan navara aventura over with us in october.i,ve applied for an import permit but speeking to my shipping company about import duty he seems to think that as it,s a commercial vehicle and i will be using it for my work[carpenter]that it is exempt from from import duty.hopefully this is right.thanx darrell

Have you looked into the why's and wherefore's of bringing a vehicle to Oz...? There's plenty of pitfall's... have a search on the forum...

Here's the link to Aussie Customs Vehicle Imports... They would give you the definitive about everything...

Not quite right, please see http://www.australiatrade.com.au/Shi...es/Customs.htm, you are still liable for duties, plus vehicle registration and complaince conversion costs, and the vehicle would have to be cleaned to AQIS standard.

thanx for the links.my removal company are valetting the truck inside/out and underneath.if i sell the truck here i stand to lose over £10,000 :curse:so it works out better to take it over on my figures

Bring it then. The Navara is popular here, I have one too. You will have no problems getting it serviced or getting spares. The UK Navara has a higher spec. than the Aussie model as well.
