That unfortunately doesn't take into account medicare.

By my calculator I get the following...on $100k pa

Total Tax to pay $27,100
Medicare Levy $1,500
Medicare penalty $1,000 (if you don't have private medical insurance)
Total Deductions $29,600

Leaving $70,400 pa NET or $5,867 per month to spend
OR $192 per day spending money

Hope this helps.

No? I know lots. If you are a professional (accountant, engineer etc) it is more than achievable in Perth at the moment. I applied for a Project Cost Control Managers job a while back that they were having trouble filling as none of the guys they offered it to would get out of bed for less than $150 per hour! I don't earn anything like that myself (I wish) but they do tend to own your soul for that sort of money in those roles but it was very tempting.

An IT contract job in Perth can easily pay > $100k and that's after super deduction. $100k in Perth is not exceptional any more.

$150k in engineering is normal now in Perth. $200k+ is not unusual and there are more jobs than people to fill them.

Yep, sounds about right. It depends on whether you're super is included in the 100k or not.

If it's 100k + super then I'd say about $6200 per month. Not sure what it would be if the super was included in the 100k.
