IEAust successful
I have to share this as I am about to pop! Just had an email from our agent to say my partner has received a successul application as a Mech Engineer Technologist. Early stages, but 60 glorious points and I am so happy!!! It only took about 2 weeks to be processed.

They're quick aren't they! Hubbies was about 3 weeks, puts TRA, NOOSR etc. to shame, so don't brag too loudly! Best wishes for getting your main application off quickly.

congratulations on your hubby's assessment.
The IEAust are quick , 2 weeks and it's done.
It took me 8 months to get Institutionalised in the UK, you never knmow when it be of use.
Is he going to apply to the IEAust for membership?

We are hoping to apply as skilled independant, only just scraping the 120 points. I need a bit more work experience for my spouse points, then we can lodge our application.

you are right re:having engineering qual - but it does show the differences between the various bodies when it comes to recognising skills and the hoops some have to jump through.
with IEaust it just your qual and their form to fill out .Although you still have to prove to DIMIA that your work experience is relivent but it a much easier process than ACS /TRA etc
