Idiot
Well, I took my new John Deere 108 for a test mow this morning, things were going great. Its a nice bit of machinery, top speed about 5 mph, beer can holder, all the luxuries.
Anyway, I nearly ran over our water meter and thought, jeez thats a bit dangerous, I better avoid that. So then next time round I ran straight over the water meter cos I have the memory of a goldfish. :o The good news is, the John Deere 108 ride on lawnmower has very strong blades. It completely shattered the water meter, and tore apart the pipe for the water supply. :o But the blades of the lawnmower are undamaged. Water everywhere. Even the neighbours kids came over to watch the 'fountain'. So I called Redlands council emergency services, and fair play to them, they had a guy round within half an hour to replace the water meter and stop the river flowing out of the front garden. And the best bit is.... it was FREE!! So, no worries about driving your lawnmower over the water meter in future, just have redland emergency services number in your mobile. They'll have it fixed up by the time you are finished mowing. :D Its also a great way to meet the neighbours, though they probably do think I'm an idiot now. ADL |

I would have seen it had I not been distracted by removing my beer can from the handy beer can holder situated just beside the driving seat. Does your Toro have a beer can holder? :p I forgot to mention, as I was distracted I also managed to run over the free copy of Bayside news lying on the front lawn and shredded it. So its not all bad news :D |

In places it was waist height, but thats no excuse, I did see it first time round, but then forgot about 2 minutes later. |
