ICT Teacher
Hi, I am a newbie and I am wondering if anybody might be able to help?
We are hoping to emigrate to Melbourne and I am looking at what the job prospects are like for teachers. I am an English teacher and there seem to be quite a few vacancies in this area but my hubbie is an ICT teacher and I haven't seen anything for him. What I am wondering is, does Australia have ICT teachers and if so, do jobs come up very often? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Depending on how he trained as a teacher, his qualifications may not be recognised in Australia. Four year BEd degrees are generally ok, degree plus PGCE is usually ok, however GTP-type qualifications usually are not.

Hi, he has a 4 1/2 year degree (HND + Degree) and 1 year PGCE so no problems there. I am just worried about the work availability.

Did a short project a few years back which your hubby might like to see:

Thinking down the same route - your problem may be getting a full time job rather than cotract as opposed to English/ICT

I am sorry but I maybe wrong but I am sure I saw an advert for ICT teacher at either Mount Eliza Secondary / Frankston High or Mount Eliza North Primary. I cannot remember which one it was but I think it was Frankston. The advert was on their web site under vacancies.
Hope this helps,
sorry could not be more precise.
We are looking to go to Melbourne and have two children aged 8 and 11 so was scanning these sights and that is when I remembered the job advert.
Good luck
Cheryl
