I'll reply

My other half has no formal qualifications in I.T but had no problem finding work. He joined a lot of agencies was particularly pleased with GEL group (Perth).

He hopes to do his MCSE when we move to Australia later this year, but right now, money is tight with the up n coming move.

The fact that he had a degree (not in I.T) looked good on his cv and most ppl commented on it.

He is expecting to find a job relatively easily when we move there, but he has maintained contact with people from his previous jobs, so guess they may come in handy!

Good Luck

Nick, yes loads of work in Perth at the moment.
Get back in contact with me (PM me) once you have a confirmed arrival date, one of my colleagues will probably be interested in having a chat with you to see if we can look at some options for you.
Cheers

Thanks Steve..

Better carry on studying now then !

I have over 10 years experience in IT but no formal qualifications until this year !!

However I know the Aussies like their qualifications so thought I'd better get of my *** and get them !

Will be in touch.

A good market for IT here at the moment and should be fine for when you arrive.

Hi...

I have been in Perth for just over a year now and did not find a problem finding work here, I work on the IT Project Management side. I actually moved into the contract side as the market is currently so good. One word of caution, a friend of mine has just arrived from the UK and he has over 10 years experience in the WinTel area in London. He has found work in Perth but has found that roles of the server support/development side do not pay the same kind of rates as the software development side (Java etc) pay.
I have currently been running a recruitment drive where I work and we have been flooded by CVs but it is still a struggle to find people with the right mix of experience and technical expertise.

Cheers

Paul

I've seen that you can do your MCSE in Australia and pay for it in monthly installments. That seems like such a good way of doing things!! Does anyone know of a good company to recommend, as my fiance wants to study for his MCSE whilst working...(ie in his own time)

Just looking recommendations on places to do it through
