A few days ago, somebody here recommended Patrick Leigh Travel Insurance.
I just spoke to the 77 year old man himself, who was an absolute gentlemen - you just don't get customer service like this anymore; he was friendly, gave advice, took his time, gave the impression that he was a friendly uncle. He worked for Lloyds many years ago and was noted for setting up migrant insurance programmes some time ago. He gave me a policy number over the phone, directed me to his website, and said - send me a cheque!!
I was particulalry impressed when he even said I could call them reverse charge if I needed to make a claim. He even called me here at home twice on Christmas Eve when yesterday I was too busy to arrange details, also saying that I could call him at home tonight if I had any questions reference the policy.

I mentioned this website to him, and suggested he sign up and introduce himself as he would be an asset to this forum.
cheers

Good to hear Badge, service is getting unheard of here now!
I checked with my insurers - Insure and Go - and they have told me that I will still be covered with my existing policy for 45 days after I leave England. Saves me a bit of money as we already bough the annual policy in March.
Good luck with the journey, you leave soon?
