Re: I liked to ride my bicycle...
Hey guys, been reading your stories and am glad you both came away alive.
I'm not an ambulance chaser i.e don't believe in claiming insurance for the sake of it [too much like hard work]...and I don't know enough about the law here to know how it all works, however if you don't claim personal injury, what happens if in years to come you have a medical problem as a result of the accident?
Reason I ask is, you both seem to have suffered extensive cuts and bruises, what's to say you haven't sustained a hairline fracture or something of that sort that may cause you probs in a few years time? I hope not....but you never know?
Not wanting to scare, but just thought it worth a mention. Of course you guys know what's best.
Good luck, and speedy recovery.

The police didn't attend, I didn't know that was the law until now. The drivers's insurance company are involved, to pay for the repairs to my bike, , which I've given them a quote for, but they are taking their time! It's annoying as it's perfect weather to ride and there's some good trails to do. I guess as long as my bike is fine and the driver is much more careful about looking for cyclists in the future that will be something. However, if it continues to drag on I may have to seek alternative measures.
I don't normally ride up Darley if I can help it, but occaisonally for hill training purposes. I prefer to ride by the sea.
Cheers

Maybe when you get your bike and I get mine we can meet up and swap tall tales.
Hope it works out soon for you.

He checked me over and I had all the xrays checked by a specialist. There's no sign of any whiplash, long lasting injury or hairline fracts. If i were to suffer in the future how could I prove it related to this event?
Any laywers out there?

Yes, I suppose it will take a bit of time getting used to when I get the bike back, I'll think I'll do some quiet roads and some off-road before venturing back onto the main roads.
meeting up for a chat and a couple of beers sounds good. Iqual is up for some biking too. Will let you know when I get my bike back
Cheers

Heres one for us bikers. I managed to ride my bike into the front of an isuzu trooper and succeeded in doing it a lot of damage with my head. Think I even left a tooth in the bonnet.

I have seen people suffering with stuff a long time after accidents - whiplash doesn't show up on an xray - its a soft tissue injury, not bony and your entire body would have been whiplashed in some way or other. It may take a week or two after the bruises have gone down to feel where the problems are. I hope not, and wish you a speedy and full recovery!

I've seen 2 GPs neither of them have impressed. My accident happened very near the local medical centre, so I was wheel chaired straight there. The first doc was looking at my xrays and explaining the bones. He managed to confuse radius with ulna and fibia with tibia??
On my second visit I asked a second dr about whiplash. He Got me to bend this way and that, head, back and legs then siad there would be no whiplash?
I'll wait and see.
Thanks again for the advice. Chris.
