Red face I have a criminal record what happens now????

hi all

i wish to apply under skills 136 and am a barber have been for nearly 20 years and will have no probs with TRA!

i have been convicted of drink driving(parking a car in a car park) and drunk in charge of a vehicle(asleep in the back) and have had the usual speeding fines,no insurance etc etc and all that is well and truly in the past as its 6 years since my ban,so how long are these taken into account for or are they on your record forever??

If so are driving convictions really frowned upon by dimia??

Thanks for any enlightenment as i dont want to proceed and shell out huge sums only to fall at the last hurdle!!

As long as your not Sweeney Todd there should be no problems with those convictions.

Just be honest about it and with that sort of thing you should be fine

Have a look at the guidelines for more info.

Surprised to see that so far nobody's responded with the obligatory 'Criminal record? Didn't know you still needed one!'

The old ones are the best.

After 10 years, Criminal Records are not "supposed" to be held against you. My PCC send does not reflect my past but my application did contain the details (in my own words) to show to pettiness of the crime - just in case it comes back to haunt me.

The concept of 'spent convictions' does not apply to Australian migration.

Forget it. DD is not a 'criminal' record. (spare me the lectures just in case anyone wants to argue this point).

Mrs.Chippy had a DD a few years back. I didn't even metion it in me application, although it came up in the check.....We're here ain't we!
