Hypnotherapy

I am thinking of getting Hypnotherapy for my fear of spiders!

I can handle being in the same room with one and knowing where it is but when they start moving I have to leave a room until someone gets rid of it.

I went to Australia on holiday for a couple of weeks and only saw 1 big spider and that was outside in Darwin at a zoo (it was a wild spider and not in a cage!) and I just ran past it!! I was quite jumpy to begin with - checking under loo seats etc, but then I got over it after the first week or so, but the amount of stories you hear on this site about the little criters I am getting more worried about it! :scared:

So anyway, one of my mates suggested that I should have hypnotherapy - has anyone had it done before. Was it expensive and did it work? :o

:)

I did the London Zoo spider programme last year and thoroughly recommend it. Spiders will never be my favourite pets :D , but I can handle them much much better now.

I did the course with DollyDayDream and Posssoms.

When we did the course, it was in three parts: Part 1 was a lecture about spiders. Part 2 was group hypnotherapy. Part 3 was looking at and touching spiders. Having done Parts 1 and 2, everybody managed to touch the spiders. Great!

It should reduce if not totaly remove the fear, my son used to be hyperventalating at sight of spider now after hypnotherapy he looks at them and doesn't panick but still keeps a good 1 to 2 ft between them and him which in Aus is not a bad thing.
