Hunter Valley and the best place to stay for an overnighter.

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me the best place to stay for a visit to the Hunter Valley please?
Am passing through in mid October just overnight and would like to visit a winery but not sure which one and would love some recommendations please.
Thank you 🙂
Julie

Stayed there a number of times. To be honest the wine has beat me each time. I cannot recall.

What's Tripadvisor say?

Haven't personally stayed here; only visited for a viewing/tastings. Rates highly on TA. Beautiful property.

I always stayed at the Spicers resort for our all too frequent trips to Hunter Valley.

Ozsheila and BS, thank you. I will check out both of these. I just wasn't too sure where to start looking to be honest as it seems like a pretty large area and not being a huge wine drinker I wasn't sure where to look for the best wineries. This is a bit of a treat for the OH so can't ask his opinion!
Thanks again
