recent report on ABC radio indicates the whitetail spider is NOT responsible for necratizing festidiitus ( ? )
I would still encourage you to squish them anyway

apparently true, someone i know over here rang the zoo and they told her it was true! They think that they have been accusing the wrong spider all these years:rolleyes:

I heard they leave a smell if you squash them?

Well I got bitten by one and it a) hurt and b) formed an ulcer around the bite. Although the ulcerations are generally considered to be caused by bacteria rather than the poison itself, the fact remains that my skin ulcerated as the result of being bitten by a whitetail. So I shall continue to squish those that come near me!
