Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this has been done already but apparently there is at least a 6-8 week additional wait on shipments arriving into Australia.

I work in relocations and this is causing us huge promblems. Might be worth bearing in mind as the docks in Melbourne reckon we'll be lucky to get any shipments from the UK before Xmas!

Em - what is the source of your information ? My goods arrived on time into Melbourne 3 weeks ago and were delivered to my house within 10 days. My colleague had his ship arrive yesterday and has not been advised of any delay.

Our buyers have been informed by both the shipping companies and customs that shipments are experiencing great delays due to the new software implentation and our guys that have just arrived in Oz and have priority shipments that are due at the end of the month have been told they will be here by 23rd December - if they are lucky!

Hope that it works out quicker than that for them we too arrived not long ago and it took about 10 days to get our stuff off the ship and through customs.
Fingers crossed that they are just erring on the side of caution.

we were on holiday in Cairns last week and this was featured on the news.
They said new software problems meant that containers could not be cleared and there was a huge backlog.
However, the presenter did only mention Queensland and NSW, so it may not be affecting Vic- and there has been nothing on the news here about it.

From landing at the port until my goods being released today took a total of 13 days. So I can't see whre the delay is
