Hsbc Uk-----warning!!!

Im in Australia, my money is in HSBC in the UK................nothing strange about that, I hear you say!!

Im trying to transfer my money through Ozforex, which means I have to transfer it to another UK account..............whats the problem you ask, well HSBC say they can only transfer £10,000 per day, and I need to go to my local branch in the UK

I spoke to 5 people in INDIA who couldnt understand what I was trying to do, they kept saying the same old thing, they gave me telephone numbers for International Banking, but that number doesnt exist anymore, when you dial the number it tells you to dial, guess where your call goes to.........yes, INDIA  and they then told me I needed to go to my HSBC branch in the UK

Im sure these people just sit and play flutes whilst watching snakes dance instead of learning English.

GIVE ME MY MONEY!!! !!! They take it off you fast enough, just wont give it back, maybe they should rename HSBC to DTBC (Dick Turpin Banking Corporation) Atleast he wore a mask...........and could speak English!!

I've come across the same problem with Lloyds. India and all! First time I tried to transfer more than £10,000 I then spoke to a very friendly guy in UKFOREX who said just transfer in two lots over the two days. Also I believe you can deposit sums in your OZFOREX account to be ready to transfer when you decide the rate is favorable.

I get furious when I get through to an Indian Call centre, they can't understand at all, why should I be asking them to say it again and to explain themselves and what they mean....

I rang up to complain about Capital One and their call centre in India, got though to one in the UK, she didn't even know that they had an Indian call centre. They might not. It might of been an Indian in the UK not speaking English. Who knows...

Why not try sending an e-mail asking that it be asnwered by a manger, explaining all, what you want to do and have tried doing.

Good luck.

i work for HSBC if you send your branch a fax indemnity even if there is a HSBC where you are get them to fax it over then explain to them what you want done. Unfortuntely over the phone they will only allow you to transfer 10k a day. The worst thing is see if you complain about the people in India you will be given the same old story that they are trained to the same standards as the ones back in the UK, the only way may be to speak to someone in the UK is to ask to speak to your branch and you will be transferred to one of the branch laision teams who are based in the UK. Sorry if this is not helpful. But if you need more info PM me as i am back at work tommorrow and i can find more info out for you.

I find your comment about flutes and snakes really offensive. They do communicate perfectly well in English...patience is required......should not be our problem I know .....but we have to live with what we have got.

I do agree speaking to an Indian call centre is a pain...but these people are highly educated and work a lot harder and are a damn sight more respectible than a lot of UK citizens. I feel the same about thick/uneducated UK call centres....the trick not to upset them.....

cheers

ps - sorry to hear about your prob - I think itsd to do with HSBC ratther than individual Indians - hopr you get it sorted.

Offensive ? I find them brilliant. Its a sad state of affairs that some greedy companies send their business to India, so we have to speak to people who cant speak English, and are clearly thick. We pay for a service, I expect a service.

How you can say we should be patient is beyond me. I would guess you agree with diversity in the UK also ?

No, none. Why ?

This board is an open forum for people's views. If you dont like the comments, you should not read them. You seem to be trying to stereo-type me, which is a classic reaction to this kind of issue. Fact is, it is no longer the British Bulldog types of people that are sick of these kinds of issues, and diversity etc. Read this link, and see the general view in the UK.

Now you are back in your place, we should let this thread get back on topic.
