Default HSBC Homestart loan

Has anyone here got one of these loans or a similar type??

We are considering having one when we build our house. Just want some feedback as to how well it works.

They work well if you pay off more than the minimum amount each month. The interest rates seem to be higher on this type of account than standard repayment mortgages.

You have to be disciplined with your withdrawls as your actual wealth is not always that obvious. I believe Nara also has an offset account was talking about finding lots of little savings to make to accelerate her home loan payoff.

Thankyou.

I worry about not having the discipline to make it work..i love the idea of becoming a skinflint, but theory and practice are two very different things!!
