Well - despite saying we wanted to exchange by Christmas when we accepted the offer towards the end of November.....nothing has happened! Chased agent today but they say solicitors are closed until next week. Ho Hum.

If nothing happens 2 weeks into the new year then I am going to look at getting a different agent.

I know the feeling. I think half the trouble round here is that most of the houses are HUGE and so represent much more money out of commission than ours

I was hoping for some news today. We had a couple of viewings which seemed really promising before the estate agents closed for Christmas but nothing today. Has been nice having a couple of days when we've been able to slob out and not have to tidy and clean. Really want to sell before I go back to work - the thought of having to leave the house in pristine condition every morning before work gives me nightmares !

Hiya i am not going to vote on this poll till after the xmanew year and evryone is back at work as we will hopefully be exchanging and on our way some time in Jan early feb as long as the to.....person who is buying our houise pulls his finger out 3 weeks before xmas we were told that his lenders were happy to release the funds for our property then a week before xmas we here they won't release the funds till he has buildings insurance in place as there have been issues with mines even though there is no issue with them at all estate is 7 years old and mines had to be properly treated for the builders to get planning permission. Will hopefully be on the move soon will keep you all informed.

I am very lucky. Accepted full asking price offer on 20th December after only 12 weeks on the market, from 1st time buyer.
No viewings for 9 weeks, then 5 viewings within 4 days in the 11th week. 4 viewers in bidding war going up to full asking price offer!!!!
So we will be going to Oz in March. Yeah!!!

Good luck to all of you!!!

house went on market recently, had one viewing yesterday but came back as a no no!!
sick of it already!! desperate to feel the sun on our face, seriously considering just going and leaving the flaming house in the hands of an agent - anyone else done that by the way?
regards

well some good news here - looks like we are exchanging contracts today

we have already started a countdown on the whiteboard - 49 days to go!!

Hope the new year brings out the serious buyers for those still with the 'For Sale' sign staring at them from the front garden. And if they are not forthcoming then you may get the biggest, heaviest boot to kick up the ar$e of your estate agent
