Default How t hire a car when you live neither here nor there

As we're in the process of emigrating, we will give up our residency here in the UK pretty much at the point we fly out. However, we won't techically be resident in Australia until we get there and arrange residency.

Does the fact that we are technically not resident anywhere for a short period of time mean that we'll have problems renting a car at the airport upon arrival?

I can always give an address one way or another but I'm just thinking where we stand from an insurance claim point of view.

Do you have a UK driving licence ? Then use that to rent a car when you arrive and put your UK address down or your accommodation address if you know it. It wont matter that you dont live there at the moment really since the Crash Damage Waiver with the car is really insuring the car rental company and not you. In the event of something you pony up the excess to them directly.
