So I need to find a house or unit for about June 5th. When do I need to start looking? I am in the sunshine coast Queensland. How about furniture? Do you need to order it in advance as a rule? Or can you get a 1-2 week delivery date on almost anything?

Sometimes you can move into a place within days if it is already vacant.
But it really depends on what is available at the time.

Not sure about furniture, it depends what and where you are buying.
Ikea stuff is normally available for take away there and then.

When we moved into our rental, we didn't wait more than 24hours for delivery in fact, Good Guys delivered later the same day
