Re: How much sunbathing do you all do??
I've been in Sydney a year now - when I first arrived I was on a mission to "get a tan", and my Ozzie boyfriend kept telling me off for it.
Now I hardly bother, it's too hot and too dangerous, and pale skin ages less... I maybe do a few 15-min bakes at the start of summer just to lay down a base and that's it (my argument is that a base saves me when I accidentally get exposed to the sun). It is unusual for me to go out without factor 30+ on. Having said that, the beaches are always busy with sun bathers but it's fairly rare for the locals to do it. The surfers wear full rash suits and heavy block. People with deep tans actually look odd! ...and I have top dollar polarised ray-bans which stop everything and still let me perv the boys ;-). |

You tend to pick up a bit of colour easily just from day to day activities anyway, no need to sit and bake

Just wondering if all you lucky people down under spend much time sunbathing? I know that if we book a holiday for 2 weeks we are out in it all day (with lots of sunscreen on!!) Does the novelty of the sun and getting a tan soon wear off?? Is there anyone out there that's still got an english rose complexion??

What about the old lady in the wheelchair who spends all day sunbathing and smoking? That's what you'll all end up like! :D |

The problem with this is the women can see me looking at their tits, that's why I prefer the darker shades. :D

Dark sunglasses actually do more harm than good. The darkness causes your pupils to dilated, therefore letting in more UV rays. You should have just enough tint so you can see without squinting on a sunny day but someone looking at you should be able to see your eyes if looking at you. This will allow your pupils to constrict, which they are meant to do in high light conditions, and not let in as much of the sun's harmful rays.
