Default How Much Spent Since Arriving?

I`m renowned as being a bit of a tightarse and it appears my reputation has grown since my arrival on the 1st of this month
obviously there are things you need to buy before your stuff arrives but how many bought on a budget?
here is a brief rundown on what we`ve spent so far and maybe this thread might act as a guide for others arriving soon
ambo cover 100 bucks(near enough)
temp accomodation(caravan park)7 days 700 bucks :scared:
bond for rental 880.00
2 weeks in advance 440.00
car(cheapy car)1000 bucks
2nd hand fridge(freaking huge)140 bucks
hoover(kmart)80.00
cotbed 345.00
mattres for cot bed 99.00
2nd hand futon for me and mrs 65.00
clothes rails(no wir`s)60 bucks
car seat for baba 119.00(bargain)
booster for boy 45.00
no frills car rental 420.00 for 2 weeks(i recommend these guys)

this is without washing machine,tv,video and bed for jack that was kindly lent to us by kelly and kev t which would have rattled up another 400 bucks at least!

we may have saved a bit by buying a cheap car sooner and finding a cheaper caravan park but on the whole i think we`ve done o.k.

hope this helps :

Chuffed about your post too, as I am not planning on going doolally with the lolly when I get there.

If anyone has any recommendations of best places to look for bargains in the household, electrical and car buying markets in Perth, I would be hugely grateful.

it was a self contained holiday villa as they call it
i can`t knock it really it had heating, fridge freezer, microwave and onsite internet access which was also handy, plus it was 10 mins from cbd so i grabbed my hire car and activated accounts whilst we were there.

We've been here nearly 3 months too,

We've not got to buy anything as all our stuff is here at the bro in laws.
Also, no rent to payas we're living with the MIL.

What we have bought is:

1 car.....$1550, absolute fantastic bargain
2 car.....$1000, sold back out at $2495 so profit of $1495. Then bought a ute at $1500. So if you work it out we managed to get a car and a ute for $1555, not a bad deal at all

Hi Rach

We are staying at The Manhattan on Newstead apartments in the Newstead area of the city (5/10 mins by taxi into the city) - we have a lovely top floor apartment with a partial river view - its lovely watching all the boats sail past - i'll attatch a pic of the view for you to see!

We booked 3 weeks here and it was a great move - the apartments fully airconditioned, fully furnished and there is a great balinese style pool for you to use as well. Have a look at the website - all the apartments are different prices depending on the view etc - i'm pretty sure the maximum per week is about $595. The manager John is also great and very friendly - would highly recommend a stay here until you find a rental.

PM me if you want any more info!

Cant believe you paid that amount for a caravan park for a week.
Our prices start at $350 per week AND we meet you at the airport, and supply a wlcome hamper!!
