Default How Much Money to Initially Bring?

Hi Guys

As you can appreciate I am looking into how much monies to initially bring over initially to help buy a car, rental etc etc before we find work.

I know the exchange rate is really poor at the moment but what do most people generally convert 10k, 20k I know everybodies circumstances are going to be different.

Also who would be the best Company to go with in terms of convert monies.

Any advice on this would be really appreicated.

Many thanks

Debbie

Depends on what you'll be spending on and how many of you there are.

The wife and I are taking enough for a cheap car ($5000) and enough for a month of food & drink ($2000).

We'll worry about the rest later in the year.

If you have GBP1000, bring GBP1000
If you have GBP100 000 bring GBP100 000

I see what your saying, but I guess the OP is asking approximates due to the poor exchange rate. Something we too are considering. Dont want to bring/exchange it all, if we can sit it out for a while hoping for a better rate.

Buts its a tough call, exactly how much will be enough?? Everyone lives to their means and budgets i guess.

We brought money over in chunks of no more than about GBP5k at a time when we first came over. We both started work fairly promptly (me after four days) and we wanted to get spending and earning in the same currency as soon as possible, so we went for bring the minimum we could get away with.
