How much to have a baby in Vic?
It's looking likely that we'll be having our next child in Vic in May 2007. We aren't in Aus yet but the interim 457 visa is all but issued and we'll most likely leave for Melbourne in January.
So here's the thing:
We'll be on a 457 so I am not entitled to any Medicare. We are trying to find out how much we can expect to pay to have a baby in Melbourne - I am expecting that we'll have a midwife delivery in hospital/birth unit.
Does anybody have any idea?
TIA

Have you tried doing a search in this forum?
This issue has been raised loads of times - and the answer for your situation ranges from nothing, to just a coupla hundred for the blood tests or scans, to about 2000 bucks. "It depends".....it seems not on your situation, but that of the practice/medical providers.
